The Legendary Remoska
Our culinary expert Raymond takes us through his experiences with the super energy saving Remoska!
Raymond writes: Apart from the obvious size limitations the Remoska seems to do anything that a conventional oven and hob can do.
It produces excellent roasts, casseroles, ‘one pot’ dishes and quick hot snacks - all with little supervision whilst cooking.
It is extremely efficient in its energy use, for example:
* 1kg whole chicken with potatoes roasts in one hour (moist, tender and crispy skin) with a 470watt element; my combi ovenproduces the same result in 20 minutes but with a 2,600 watt element.
* 2kg of shin of beef and mixed vegetables developed into a very tasty casserole, I achieved tender meat in 1 and a half hours compared to a conventional oven with a 2,300 watt element – which takes 4 hours.
Cleaning is so simple, after cooking a wipe with a kitchen cloth is enough - at worst the oven washes along with the dishes - no additional detergent is needed and there is certainly no need for oven cleaner!!
And finally, it is very light and would be very convenient in a caravan or self catering unit whilst holidaying.
This poor thing has had a hard week so I am going to give it a rest tonight – maybe!
